Selldorf’s mother designed this remarkably concise dining chair. Its vibrant line seems lifted directly from a designer’s sketchbook. Uniformly finished metal rod contours the tall, elegant frame, sleeved in hand-stitched leather. The seat inclines to meet a graciously curved backrest, a calligraphic tilde that ends in a handle-like top rail. The sitter feels supported and airy. Legs appear to spring from rounded corners and terminate in small, coin-shaped tabs. Cross stretchers add rhythm. The Dodi Chair compliments a variety of settings and is adaptable to most leather upholstery. It is handmade to-order in Cologne, a unique member of the original collection.
