Philipp Tall Woven Chair

This svelte counter-height chair is based on a design by Selldorf’s mother. Its vibrant line seems lifted from a designer’s sketchbook. Uniformly finished metal rod contours a graciously curved backrest ending in a handle-like top rail. A calligraphic tilde. The seat, in natural, hand-woven material, inclines slightly to cradle the sitter while cross stretchers at the legs add stiffness and provide a well-placed foot rest. The Philipp Tall Woven Chair is designed for counters and tall tables, complimenting a variety of settings. The chair’s specialized caning is based on a historic technique developed in the city of Cologne where it is handmade, to-order.
