A variation on a design by Selldorf’s mother. Metal rod in a uniform dark finish defines the chair’s vibrant line and offsets the natural, hand-woven material. The seat inclines to meet a graciously curved backrest, a calligraphic tilde that ends in a handle-like top rail. Legs appear to spring from rounded corners and terminate in small, coin-shaped tabs. Cross stretchers echo the caning’s warp and weft. The Dodi Woven Chair is a unique member of the Cologne collection. The chair’s specialized caning is based on a historic technique developed in the city of Cologne where it is handmade, to-order.
